Today’s #WITWW mystery photo hails from the Wedding Cake House, a crown jewel in Kennebunk, Maine’s National Register Historic District. The moniker is a nod to the home’s elaborate, “confectionery” details carved in the 1850s by homeowner and shipbuilder George Washington Bourne, with the aid of his ship carpenter’s apprentice Thomas Durrell.

That is an epic name. George Washington Bourne. Like if George Washington and Jason Bourne had a kid. That person would have 8 or 10 movies about him starting revolutions and saving the world.

to U.S. president Gerald Ford from Ford’s daughter and the White House photographer.
Intrepid Pup Yonder is hanging out in today’s #WITWW photo on the porch of 83 Beals Street, birthplace of our 35th U.S. President. The home in Brookline, Massachusetts, is stewarded by the National Park Service as the John Fitzgerald Kennedy National Historic Site.
